Surprise, Surprise!!

Many of you know I had weight loss surgery a few years back.  I lost about 150 pounds and then stopped losing.  I am very pleased that I lost that much, and have maintained the loss (for the most part), but I really want to get about 50 more pounds off.  Back at the beginning of May, I joined Weight Watchers for the umpteenth time.  Between May 16th and July 18th, I lost 18.6 pounds.  I ended up slacking off and not attending meetings, writing meals down, counting points, etc... because life got so busy with a little one around.  I decided that now that I have some extra time on my hands, I would get back on the program.  When I joined in May, I enrolled in the monthly pass program which drafts payment from my account every month.  I never cancelled it because I knew if I did, I would not be motivated to go back.  They opened a new location near my house.  This location is known as a storefront location.  You can pretty much weigh in at any time during the day and meetings are held there as well.  This is so much more convenient for me.  So, when I went in this morning, I stepped on the scale, and the person weighing me told me to get back on it a second time because she thought something was wrong.  Then she told me I had lost 8.2 pounds since my last weigh in and I now have lost a total of 26.8!  :)  I knew I had not really gained anything back, but I didn't think I had lost any.  What a nice surprise!  I feel more motivated and determined to stick with it this time, no matter how busy life gets.

One of the reasons I blogged about this today is because I want to be held accountable.  Now I don't want you to come up to me and ask me how much I lost at my last weigh in, or give me 'the look' if I am eating Twizzlers at a staff meeting.  I am going to try to post about my weight loss journey on my blog at least once a week and that way I feel I am being held accountable.  (I know...it is kind of the chicken way to be held accountable, but it is a start!)

So, after I finish this piece of peanut brittle, I am going to read through the new materials.  (they've changed the program since I was there in July) and then do some meal planning.  If you are doing Weight Watchers and have any hints or meal ideas, please feel free to comment.  :)  Ta Ta!!

I have been wanting to get back on WW for a long time now. They are holding meetings at the new hotel in HSP. I am just not sure if I want to go to meetings or sign up for on-line WW.
